About us
Les Magnolias hotel is an ideal place for those seeking peace, tranquility and the chance to experience the authentic charm and culture of rural France. Once the family home of famous French poet Paul Valéry, the 700 year old building was renovated in 2000 by its owner Dietmar Ley and has become established as a beautiful and charismatic 22 bedroom boutique hotel. Situated in the quaint village of Plaisance in the still largely undiscovered rural Aveyron in southern France, surrounded by protected forests, rivers and ancient villages, the hotel has an outdoor swimming pool with views of the rural countryside, impressive terraced gardens and superb indoor and outdoor dining areas. Its restaurant menus are "gourmand" sourced predominantly from rich and diverse local produce. A cycling holiday operation, Cycling Magnolias, is based at the hotel and rents high-end racing, hybrid and electric road bicycles. The village is surrounded by stunning roads suited to cyclists, motor bikers and vintage car enthusiasts. Specialist advice is provided daily to ensure that the most special and sometimes hidden villages and scenery are not missed! The cycling environment delights both casual and serious cyclists and customised 7 night self-guided or accompanied tours are offered. A Pétanque court in the hotel's large terraced garden as well as a ping pong table on one of its two outdoor terraces shaded by giant magnolia trees, are available for those wishing to spend their days simply relaxing at the hotel's swimming pool. Walking hikes and canoeing are easily accessible from the hotel. Whether you're looking for a calm or outdoor adventure holiday, Les Magnolias is the perfect choice! Open from April to October, the hotel and its surroundings offers a unique and unforgettable experience, combining historic charm and modern comfort in one of the most beautiful and unspoiled regions of France.
