About us
Les Magnolias is a recently renovated 700 year old building, once the family home of the famous French poet Paul Valéry. It is situated in Plaisance in the Aveyron and is owned by a German entrepreneur, Dietmar Ley, who in 2000 purchased the 700 year old building from the renowned restaurateur family Roussel and then invested substantially into expanding and renovating it into the current 22 room offering. The hotel operation is run by his wife Claudia Ley who also manages Cycling Magnolias, a cycling operation based at the Les Magnolias, established in 2011 to encourage cyclists from all over the world to experience Plaisance's idyllic cycling environment. The restaurant staff are dedicated to serving a variety of delightful and delicious dishes to its regional and international visitors, applying their varied experience to the rich selection of local Aveyron and Tarn produce. The hotel is open from mid April to mid October each year.
